Building what we've built at Carrot isn't easy and it's cool seeing them make a go of tackling the same challenge we did when we set out and what we've been focused on solving for the industry the last 8 years. 

Fences seem so innocuous but can become very contentious. 

We could have done better to protect ourselves (and have contracts that do that now) but there were some costly lessons that we wished we had avoided.It depends on the scope of the reno you are tackling. 

Once settled in, I plan on partnering up with my old man (experienced investor in my hometown and the person who taught me the business) and tackle our first flip since we can compete with cash buyers there.

Is it best to partner with an experienced flipper or totally reasonable to tackle it on my own?

@Sabrina Sanchez Hmmm, so I might tackle this in a different angle - if the customer qualifies, and it's allowed, how do we ethically advise our clients on action? 

This way you avoid some taxes by reinvesting, you avoid the issue of owning real estate in another state (which isn't a bad thing, but doesn't sound like something you want to tackle right now), and you stay in the renting game.

I have a question or two that i have been going back and forth on and cant seem to find the best way to tackle it so here it goes.
