We are not opposed to investing either South, West, or Central, Mass but our biggest issue is identifying the right towns.  

I live in Bozeman MT, which is a charming relatively small city in the South West corner of the state. 

I work on the Southwest side but live Downtown.  

I personally work the near southwest suburbs, but you should connect with @Brie Schmidt as she works a lot of the areas you seem to be interested in.

I'm based in NYC with a Southwest Companion pass, freedom, cash and a quick commute to the airport, so I'm interested particularly in Kansas City, Sacramento, Charlotte, and Philly where numbers look better than Manhattan.

I am just south-west of you in the Santa Clarita valley.RE is, in my opinion, the way to go for retirement wealth building and even full or supplemental income today.If your strategy is to buy and hold (the antelope valley is one of a few areas where you can have true and real cash flow, you can certainly achieve your goals but you do need capital for acquisitions, and your rainy day fund.You may want to look into flipping a property or two to build quick capital.Good luck to you.Fire away with any questions you may have in the appropriate categories.Will Barnard
