There is nothing wrong with investing in an S&P500 index and enjoying your life.

It's also okay to pass altogether and just throw money in an index fund. 

FED cannot avoid cutting rates they dropped in December and January and a CPI index report crushed everything that was really all hedged data.  

Sometimes it's good to pause, let the money sit in HYSA or index funds and re-evaluate.

Last time spread was this low, March '09, from then until Covid 2020, SP500 went up 455% but VNQ-REIT index went up 555%.

Personally speaking, I lean more towards a passive stock investment strategy and would consider myself something of a "Boglehead," looking to invest mostly in broad index funds and bonds.  

I've been putting money into stocks and index funds, and looking into other public markets, would consider real estate debt funds or syndications (would need to vet those first)  in the future.
