Hi Julian,Being a property manager, vs. being a GREAT property manager, which is a whole different level of commitment.If you want to be a property manager in business for yourself, you could learn from a bigger outfit like greystar for a couple of years and draw a W2 from them.If you want to manage class B or C, managing a class A will not give you the boots on the ground experience you need very much.

Because quite a lot of Home Depot/Lowe's stuff is right up there as far as the carcasses go, and if you want a higher-end look all you have to do is veneer the frames and change out the doors from a refacing outfit to get pretty much anything you want.

Only to get a second appraisal from some other outfit to come in with better numbers. 

If you go the STR direction I would plan to pay at least $15k to furnish and outfit everything you’ll need.

IE a closet that will hold more than  10 out fits :)5.

Not only do you want to properly outfit the places, but you are going to want to do a thorough risk management assessment for each place to mitigate the risk of accidents.  

Just be aware of that if you are considering doing the work yourself or through a handyman service.Definitely call some other outfits - gather at least 3 quotes.
