I think that specifying HIV/AIDs in the law goes back historically to a time when people thought that they would get a deadly, non-curable disease from just being around someone with that disease.

Since there is no current cure for this disease I feel the need to do the work of securing some sort of care for both parents that puts the least amount of strain on them and the rest of the family.
