Because contractors get bombarded with request for estimates on properties “buyers” don’t even have under contract....the chances of the buyer not buying the property and the gc not getting the work, therefore wasting his time, are extremely high.The Owner typically determines/creates the scope of work....how is the contractor supposed to know what the client wants?

They know I will be working on that side of the transaction so that newbies won't bombard them with 1,000 questions and waste their time.So sure sign up for lists but since you are unproven likely get shown the trash and marginal stuff others passed on already that viewed in the internal list.
