The literature says it is moisture resistant not water proof.

But you're absolutely right that Maine people can be resistant to folks from away.

If it's a bad (high resistance) connection it's a definite fire hazard and needs to be addressed immediately.

There are certain limited cases however where the wind zone standards for manufactured homes exceed the state standards for wind resistance.

It's a lot more water resistant than laminate and easier to clean/repair than carpet. 

I applaud any one who can resist the temptation to leverage and put it at risk when they really do have enough.

Both of these water leaks damaged the kitchen base cabinets (brand new and installed in Aug 2017) resulting in moldly cabinets along the inside bases, damaged water resistance vinyl laminate floors in kitchen, damage to living room wood laminate floors, and a bedroom with moldy carpet due to leak from the the hole in bath tub.  

Then stop accepting her phone calls unless she passes your background check which is unlikely since she has been resistant to it.
