With obsession we become more susceptible to hurting our profits as we quickly get caught up in the small market fluctuations that inevitably occur and end up in a day-trader type of thinking (and end up selling far too early). 

The arrangement is analogous to the Fund being a brokerage account and the Management Company being the trader.

The problem is if you're consideried a "trader," you might owe 15.3% SE tax, Fed, and state (if applicable), and 3.8% medicare/obummer tax depending on your circumstances & income..

Also, if the trader (I am assuming it isn't a commodity trading advisor) is handling all of the trading, I assume this is a discretionary trading account.
