They are your best option, because when you have tenant turnover, at least you will still have income from the other units.

When I look at current listings on AirBnB the pricing seems to vary widely for relatively similar homes. 

Purchase price: $12,000 Sale price: $18,000 Double wide on 2 lots by the lakes that needed completely gutted and rehabbed.

Opex has been a huge hit to most property owners in all shapes and forms, myself included, but to know to keep your back wide enough to cover your own you'll be able to navigate these waters just fine. 

One option I have is to demo and rebuild the house using insurance money but it will take about a year and lot of involvement.

One thing to consider is fee structure, which apparently varies widely in this segment.

If you go this route, make sure there is a very very very wide spread because it's so high risk and easy to lose.
