Ask him for proof of his success by being transparent with his car titles, deeds and tax returns and his default is to insult you while touting his amazing lifestyle. 

They even touted themselves as having over 50 years investment experience.

There are a lot of shiny internet companies touting their HELOC, but you will do better with a local bank every time.

So many folks are out here touting making millions with $0 down and you proved that even with all the due diligence and good investing sense, you have to be prepared and take risks that are proportioned to what you can withstand.

Not sure if it is a crime but something needs to be done. puffing is so common just shop for a MF with commercial brokers their flyers and attached proformas are all blue sky.. the best scenarios possible. the issue with Morris was gross misrepresentations of the risk of the asset class they touted.. like I have said it was a complete fabrication or he was more clueless than we thought .. then it was the fake renters  the rehab monies stolen etc etc. 

Using a second line of credit (HELOC, credit card, etc) actually takes slightly longer and costs more in interest than just paying that $300-$310 per month directly to the mortgage.You're trying to confuse the issue by now touting the other benefits of HELOCs.

For example they were touting a great value add opportunity on one building when I had already just completed renovations.
