This is all the great things people call out; beaches, mountains, swim in morning and ski at evening.

Everyone who invested with MI was getting regular "rent" payments and things seemed to be going swimmingly. 

of course it is, no one's swimming across oceans to get into China, nor India, nor Russia, nor Saudi Arabia, and why not?

Soon, there will be a ton of posts below from agents in Columbus and Cleveland to "help" you, but you already know where you want to be.I wouldn't be thinking STR for Ohio unless you are doing woodsy, which can work, but the table stakes are high on those (swimming holes, saunas, game rooms, hot tubs).

May as well draw the parallel that nobody should invest in real estate because SWIM bought a house in 07 and was underwater shortly thereafter

People love coming to places like this and saying, "Yeah, bro, no problem, I rented all my rooms in a day and was swimming in cash." 

If you recall also those with swimming pools in Los Altos hills that were on a hillside some of them the water came out and flooded into their homes.. it was quite random.. my kids were walking home from grade school alone ( Back in those days it was OK for kids to walk a few blocks by themselves.. )  The poor folks though on Hwy 17 connector through Oakland got pretty much squished when the top deck fell down that was very sad..

I went on once and it was like the forums on speed and crank, but also swimming in a nuclear swamp.
