You would have to pay franchise and excise tax as an LLC unless you waive your liability shield and become an Obligated Member Entity (OME) which defeats the purpose.What is your goal, to protect your personal assets?  

well said eric....you can lead a horse to water but you can't make her drink..i can't tell you how many of my buddies see what i do, and think i have the life...trust me, i don't..lol...but they see me working for myself and they talk t ome about how they want me to help get them into it..i do wahtever i can, almost to the point of looking like an idiot someimtes...i set them up with my banker and everything, and they don't do crap!

I would think that he will not take care of the ome and not follow the rules. 

Im trying to dos ome assignments right now and thats the only part stopping is me is I dont have a few thousand to put into escrow to bid on the properties.

@Brandon Bartley bummer you moved out before, that shuts the door on a regular H(ome)ELOC.
