Expect to spend a considerable amount of your time speaking to people.Expect to work dozens of hours/week with little to no immediate result.Expect most of your early interest from potential clients to come from your sphere of influence.Expect to go 3-6 months without getting paid (unless you do rentals which usually pay faster)Expect to be bombarded with distractions - mainly, people/companies marketing to you so that you choose their system for quick and easy buyer or seller leads.

@Jonah Gunalda you fit the profile of a large segment of the passive investing community--someone who has a good income from something they are really good at, and would like exposure to real estate in their investment portfolio without distracting them from that very vocation that put them in the position to make such an investment in the first place.There probably isn't a "typical" profile of folks who do not and would not invest in syndications. 

Try not to get too distracted on flipping, STR, MTR, etc. 

Please don't get distracted by the get-rich-quick crowd that's making money by selling their courses.

This is by far profound and i knew this at the outset of my journey - but its easy to get distracted along the way.  

Don’t let the “know it alls” and “ that ain’t going to work” types distract you.

Marketing homes during this period involves creative strategies, such as seasonal staging and targeted online promotions, to attract buyers even amid holiday distractions.

You are becoming distracted and diverting your time, energy and resources away from where it should be spent which is locating and acquiring good real estate and then managing it well. 

Lawyers, police, emotional stress, your name associated with a shooting, stigma on your building, opportunity cost by being distracted, possible jail time... none of that is good for business.
