I than thought it was tenants, all the "what if's"; what-if they have a fire, what-if there is a shooting, dead body, drug raid, break-in, squatters, feces art, etc etc etc.....   

Maybe they've been burned by landlords in the past and are being very careful.You can legally reject them based on personality, facial tattoos, body odor, or other factors, but you better make sure you can prove that it wasn't based on any protected class like race, religion, familial status, etc.

Is any body having issues with less than scrupulous lenders or getting approached by scam artists posing as landers?

WE figured homeless or someone Od.. called the cops they hauled the body out and that was the end of that.

Some – almost invariably small ones that did not or could not adapt fast enough to suit their regulatory Masters – had to be sold for pennies on the dollar to banks that are Too Big To Fail.

Our 4th Amendment Rights as landowners protect us against regulatory takings and that is why lots that were created prior to zoning or zoning changes are typically grandfathered.  

Think about it: most of them are able-bodied adults who choose to live (mostly) free off the backs of others rather than contribute to society.Rent payments are usually steady, but Section 8 tenants took a lot more work upfront, throughout their tenancy and at the end of their tenancy.
