If I were starting over, I’d go this route again without hesitation.For Milwaukee, look at Riverwest, Bay View, and West Allis as each have strong rental demand with room for appreciation.

You really need a business or a commercial asset in my opinion - contractor bays, oil change type centers -something that everyone uses.

I really trusted my agent and knew several people who had invested in Reno so I took the leap after trying and failing for years to buy my own home in really high cost cities where I lived (NYC, DC, SF Bay area). 

The garage was built to work on trucks having 14' ceilings and 2 bay doors heating cooling about 700 sqft.

I also want to avoid the trap of thinking that things are a good deal because I’m comparing to the Bay Area (which makes nearly everything a good deal) ;-)
