I could be wrong, but I think the odds of said proposed legislation coming out the other end still anywhere close to 'flat' are about the same as the odds of your section 8 tenant volunteering to paint the exterior of the home they are living in using their own paint and for free because they want to live in a place they are proud to call home.

Ask around, and volunteer your time and services in exchange for mentoring.  

I used to do weekly volunteer work in Kensington and to paint the picture (A) half the buildings don't have all 4 walls (B) homeless people everywhere (C) needles all over the sidewalk (D) people literally knock on your windows if you're stopped a red light trying to get money or sell you crack.That being said, supposedly Kensington is up-and-coming.

The main principle to focus on is that a list people volunteer to be on will be stronger than one they somehow ended up on.

So when Greg from my local meetup asked for someone to mow his property online I immediately volunteered. 

Ultimately, I'd love to build enough passive income to allow me the financial freedom to retire early, support my family as the kids get older, free up my time to do things that I love, and be a volunteer/philanthropist in my little part of the world.

I would also love to become involved with some local real estate/investor related groups, attend seminars, and do some volunteer projects to meet a wide variety of people in my community and become more involved.Having just started out with this, there is a ton of information to process which can get pretty overwhelming at times!

So we're not talking 88 relatives that Id volunteer to help/advise and kick back most of the $$$.From what I've learned, they will not be able to fix and sell, they don't have the resources...

Besides that, I pretty much watch/play sports, walk my dog, and volunteer as a Wish granter.
