You can attach a shower onto them by changing out the faucet to one that allows a riser attachment; if the tub is near a wall, the riser can be attached there for support and  attached to the shower rod.  

@Rod Fisher  this is generally the case and a much safer way to do it and much more time management productive for the smaller investor.
