I found BP a few months ago through the real estate podcast and was inspired there to take the jump into REI as a way to help tackle debt when I finish my Ph.D. and my wife finishes medical school.There isn't much experience with REI in my immediate family or friend-circle.

@Greg Spring, there are a few different one, MCREIA is a big one but if you go on meetup's website there are a bunch of other ones that people host locally and advertise times and locations through meetupAccount Closed, people are usually referring to 35803 and some or all of 35802 as SE Hsv, 35801 in more central (downtown/medical district), 35805 is SW, 35816 is west and sits on the north side of 35805, 35810 and 35811 are north (west and east respectively), "The Parkway" or 231 is the east west dividing line

@Steven PickerIn Massachusetts, it is still in the early stages of legalized medical marijuana & it is highly controlled (the state dictates the amount of dispensaries & warehouses & their specific locations within those counties).

Over the past few years, my wife and I rehabbed our home and sold it with enough of a profit to fund a move from Central Oregon to Kansas City to where my wife's family lives, purchase a new (albeit much smaller) home and make a few improvements to it, cover medical expenses for our baby boy who was born a couple months after we moved, and allowed me to take a few months off work to stay home with my little family.

And due to heavy and diligent tenant screening, my tenant was great so I was willing to live with less extra dollars till he graduated from medical school.
