Someone always wants to stay over the summer and do sports or summer quarter

The only times I use hotels are when there are no STRs where I want to go.....I.E. the Vegas Strip, downtown Phoenix within walking distance to the sports venues, etc.....Or when we want to go to a true 'resort' during the summer.
