Since its your rental, I'd repoint the cracks, and the monitor them for future movement.

If it is off by 1-2 inches then I would probably not worry about it for now unless there is more movement. 

We have spoken with state senators about this, and they recognize and acknowledge the problems, but I don't see any movement.
