I am shaken, at times to the point of panic (mild exaggeration) at the thought of getting a low mark - especially for cleanliness - in my first review or two just because the place shows its age in places. 

Also are their any collections or bad marks on their credit report, a lack of stable job history with enough income to cover the rent, low credit score, or any issues with the landlord reference check with their previous landlord?

Hello Mark,There are a handful of TX investors here, that probably protested their property tax.

@Mark Statner - You want to use the tax assessors website for determining a houses square footage and taxable assessment.

You  can provide statement from HELOC and lender will mark funds are coming from HELOC.

And just let them mark potential violation on their book.
