It’s awesome to see how passionate he is, but I’m feeling stuck on what his next steps should be.

But now when you bring up these points, the very same people who invested in Bitcoin back in the early days and are sitting on (in some cases) millions in profits claim that the chances of Bitcoin replacing fiat are pretty low.  

You probably had a little tickle in your moral compass which gave you pause, which is why you reached out.My wife is an accountant, when we look for every possible tax break it doesn't feel like theft, we feel accomplished to find a place for more savings and lose zero sleep over it.

If you are paying no rent in your parents beach house that could bring in a lot more to your family being rented as a beach house during the season. 

So I would give all of the their walking papers, bring your unit up to market or slightly below, and get it rented to a good tenant.
