Source of income is now a protected status in the fair housing act, meaning you can’t deny because the applicant plans to use housing vouchers to pay rent, but that doesn’t mean you have to rent to them.

I had just come across a section 8 strategy video on youtube of a very well-known and successful investor who actually recommended not using multi-family properties as housing for targeting individuals with section 8 vouchers for various reasons...and now I'm afraid!!!

CA already has tools to address the demand side like section 8 vouchers, so the ways to address the housing problem are in no way mutually exclusive.The issue in San Diego is undoubtedly an undersupply of housing relative to demand - I think even the most liberal politicians here acknowledge that.
