I got lucky on this.In today's market I would just stash money away and be prepared for an opportunity to come up, short sale or forclosure in a market that appreciates. 

If you were trying to build reserves faster in order to drop the home warranty or reduce the likelihood of having to use a credit card for emergencies then you might be stashing away every bit of cash flow for close to a year. 

And I would stash the cash like mad for three or four years while I learned what to do with it.

Does anyone use these investment apps? If so, what's your opinion on them? Are they good for investing spare capital? Do you recommend anyone in particular? If so, why?

I have more stashed away, but it's all in Roth and 401k plans so I don't know if it can be put to use.
