I also put in some strapping (diagonal 2xs) above the studs I cut, to give some lateral support in the event the wall wanted to sag.

Are you referring to 1x8 boards that run across the joists diagonally?

... you want water to run off your structure and not sit and absorb into your floor joist... and please note others comments on making it safe and not opening up your liability... another trick on a deck that feels wobbly is to run a diagonal or 3 under the deck joist.  

The inspection found many many minor problems (like bad outlets, dangerous branches to trim, little minor cracks here and there following concrete blocks but all normal stuff, no diagonal stuff)  and 1 major problem, i.e. a couple of rotten/wet wooden beam and wooden floor plank in the crawl space, probably a few thousands dollars (2000-3000) to fix/them, no big deal.
