Difficulty with a Cell Tower Lease Agreement for Self-Storage Property
15 October 2024 | 1 reply
The lender of course required this for financing and the seller, out of ignorance I assume, refused to obtain a written notice from the cell tower company. (2) The cell tower was not paying monthly rent but rather paid an upfront payment of $75k for the 41 years remaining on the lease term.

Mortgage Rate Drops

Housing prices in two of our larger cities (Vancouver and Toronto) are also crazy high (eg $1M to buy a starter home)...actually in Vancouver proper at the moment the cheapest home (single family, not strata) is $1.2M...surprisingly (to me) in Toronto the cheapest home on the market is $650K (ignoring some listed for $1 as clearly there is a catch). Our mortgages work differently than in the US, and what we get for rates are only locked in for 1-5 years (typically) and then we have to renew at whatever the current rates are.

Responding to tenants

I get the 'professional silence', and have been told imperiously by other landlords that I should just not respond and ignore rambling, and responses definitely encourage more. However I find I have tenants that demand attention, if I don't answer they continue to get louder and angrier, and begin trying to come up with ways to force me to answer and get involved.
