I would say, unless something drastic happens, most towns with a decent-sized tourism industry should be a bit safer, so long as they are not limited to seasonal tourism.

Hi Deep / Adrià,Thanks for above posts.I am a newbie just starting out on REI path and glad to find other people interested in Valencia.I was in Valencia and Alicante cities recently and felt more inclined toward Valencia (bigger city; more diverse opportunities instead of mainly tourism in Alicante's case).It'll be great to know your thoughts about good neighbourhoods in Valencia for long term rental investment.

You should be able to do whatever you want with your properties as long as it doesn’t violate any criminal laws.1 - They don't want to screw over the hotel industry that pays so much of the taxes and help drive tourism.
