My accountant's office called me the other day and let me know that I could amend my 2022 tax return and claim losses due to Hurricane Ian to a primary residence property and a investment property. 

How do these deals typically perform in terms of cash flow and equity growth? 

We're building an addition onto our primary residence and have a choice between adding one 8x12 master bathroom or splitting that same space to have 2 en suites (each 8x6), with one coming off the master bedroom and the other coming off another bedroom.

Sounds like a cash out refinance would be the best way to tap into that equity. 

I've found that the best areas for the investors I have worked with on BRRRR properties are areas like Center Point, Fultondale, Gardendale, and Pinson areas.These areas are solid and aren't in warzones like Fairfield or Tarrant but will also produce you cash flow and equity unlike cities like Hoover or Vestavia.
