@Alexander Cercone, I left the active duty Army to become a Real Estate Agent / Investor just like you. 

There are also many lawsuits being filed by the residents against Fort Bend and the Army engineers for not disclosing the "maximum flood pool" warning on the title documents.

Even with decent pay, still no place to live I was fortunate in knowing someone from an indian reservation, I went to school with his grand niece, she was able to hook me up with him and I lived in a horrible trailer house with no running water, no insulation and you could literally see the ground thru the bathroom floor and drove 1 1/2 each way to work everyday in 40 below weather but I had a job and that was ALL that mattered.

I have visited North Carolina , (Fort Bragg) multiple times because of the Army , and each time was able to check in on my property .

@Basit Siddiqi Thanks for the detailed reply1) I am going to have Non Resident Indian Status ( spending 180 days out of the country on nationality, which is India) so i will have to file taxes separately in every country and not worry about any cross country tax issues. 2) I will be spending six to eight months in the US which should allow me to manage my projects.I will connect with you through private message and continue the conversation. 

Trying to use a VA or similar with the least down as possible as I’m Army and don’t have a ton of extra income.

I've been in the DC area for over 3 years with the Army.

I am also in the process of moving back to Greenville, SC after living near Nashville, TN for the past 5 years while in the US Army.
