We get a lot of bad information that comes around and fight hard to explain to people why they can't deduct their wedding etc.

I need to find somewhere quickly as the wedding is coming up, but I don't want to rush into a poor business move just because of this timeline I'm on.

I'm in a position where my savings are going towards my wedding that I'll be paying for come March, but I have an interesting situation where my mom is possibly interesting in being a partner and providing funds where deals are available (asking about partnerships and how to handle this situation will probably need to be a completely different post...). 

I am currently a wedding & event photographer that is based in Orlando, Florida but I also travel worldwide.

Who uses their STR as a wedding venue?

We're not a vacation spot so most people that stay with us for a night or two are in the area for an event of some type such as a graduation, wedding, conference, etc.

Having said that, my fiancé and I are getting married in May and I was planning on saving money through the winter and getting started investing after my wedding in the spring.

Our initial thoughts was to update some of the property to have more amenities to add to the guest experience and to offer it as a wedding venue.

That banker in the little corner office in your home town branch may be on a career path that parallels your growing real estate business and the relationship may turn out to be a valuable asset far into the future.On the other hand I think if people know what you do for a living and know that you “work with your hands” as they say, and you appear in a suit and tie and it's not a wedding or a funeral, they're going to think you are overdoing it.
