It is not a surprise you want to get out of California.

Not that I agree with what you are doing, I am not surprised on what you have to do in California to make any money. 

The reason this make the most sense is that you are able to finance all your high priced items into your mortgage and then your ready to go 15-20 years without any major surprises and hopefully less ongoing maintenance along the way.

Our neighboring landlords were so grateful for us cleaning up the place that one of them surprised us with a new roof for the overhang on the front porch while he was having his roof redone!!
