Investors get caught up in trying to force terms or arrangements to compensate for a weak transaction because they want to make it work, put a square peg in a round hole.

IRR, while just a numbers, can describe very clearly all of the economic moving parts and indicate the weaknesses.  

Choose a partner who's strengths & weaknesses balance out yours.

I've found the Board to be pretty reasonable, but they aren't going to lower the ruling if you're just in there complaining with weak evidence or a weak presentation.Any adjustments of lowered taxes will be applied to your next tax bill or be sent to you in the mail, I've seen both.
