Even with no-indoor-smoking rules in solid B areas, not low-income, I've had carpets and linoleum burned by cigarette butts, not to mention the smell in the walls and carpet.  

All other aspects was simply the mechanisms on how that inevitable "boom" rippled through every part of financial sector and was amplified to maximal power.

That is a very unhealthy condition and a few economic ripples combined with some vacancies and urgent repairs can sink that portfolio.In the end it's a balance between growing wide and deep.

My only gripe is the scorching heat during the summer, but you learn to adapt and stay indoors or do things early in the morning. 

You can pick up a Stainless Steel ice in door fridge for $800-900 (Frigidaire 25.5cu) delivered and installed and used craigslist washer and dryer for $200-300.

Job layoffs in tech will have a ripple effect. 

The ripple effect on "brick and mortar" stores is everywhere.Again I am not saying it is all doom and gloom. 

I don't know that the payback would be worth an indoor sauna.

Not having a dishwasher these days is like not having indoor plumbing.Based on your picture, it would look like hell anyway AND you'd have to find an 18" washer to fit in the space, unless you were pulling the cabinet by the stove too.
