I have a number of friends in the Meyerland area who woke up to 3-4 feet of water and have pretty much lost everything as their homes are completely submerged. 19 people from our church have evacuated and are in emergency accommodation with 2 families (one with a pregnant wife) are trapped in their homes and cannot get through to rescue services.I live in the medical centre district and the water was 2 inches up our front doors, but luckily only got a little wet, and quickly went back down to the road when we had a little respite.However, I know that Houstonians are resilient, and will rebuild quickly!

Everyone i spoke to did not replace wire.just remember; all drywall 12 inches above flood line, cabinets, doors, flooring(tile should be fine), maybe the a/c equipment, window stools, baseboard, insulation, outlets (at least) and it took us 3 months with multiple fans and humidifiers running to get all the wood back to acceptable moisture content.
