So let me get this straight...you are receiving a 1k deposit that is non-refundable directly from the buyers on a house you don't own and don't really have an interest in yet till the bank maybe approves a price.Not that I'm calling you a thief, but wouldn't that be a really easy way for someone to rob people?

More alarming is I've had more sellers who are actually selling and plan to rent right now rather than purchase another home for at least a year or so as they don't want to get locked in somewhere again, and it's my understanding that the new tax law removes a big advantage for home ownership for many with the higher standard deduction, so no longer as much of an advantage to buy rather than rent.
