Unfortunately it seems to be really attached to the wall (of course, when you want it to stay on it comes off, and vicea versa).I have had someone suggest doing the entire wall in drywall mud and sanding but waaaaay too much work.

Surprised you can't build attached with RSA-3 Zoning. 9' would definitely not be wide enough to attract tenants or buyers.
