If you put 100% of your allotted investment in one asset class, where is the diversification your risk?

Wall Street Journal spoke to this recently in an article stating the diversification debt to asset ratios of TX banks relating to oil - their perception was all (with only 1 exception) are diversified out of oil significantly to not be affected. 

That's fine, but I feel that a fund offers much better diversification. 

You have to learn it anyway, so it's easier to learn about something that you desire, rather than learn about something that the media or others say is "hot".I've been working on a speech about wealth building success that starts with a "startling" title to grab attention - "Diversification is for Suckers".The gist of the talk is that the richest people throughout history made their first fortune from one company.

No diversification.

One of the biggest advantges that is rarely mentioned on biggerpockets is the diversification of assets that a real estate IRA allows you and is the main reason I did it.

With the obvious stated, Diversification can lead one into areas that you may not be familiar with.

Diversification here is not your friend.Jeff

If you're looking for some diversification (I'm not sure how many properties you own) You may look into utilizing a 1031 to sell one here, and purchase multiple in a higher cash flow (lower appreciation ) area.
