Its a lesson learned and this minor loss will make you better in the future.BTW,  Never put plastic sheets in a house as difference in Temps. cause condensation which in turn, can create mold. 

I would also suggest you look into temping.

But I didn't find many listing in Tempe close to the university.

Interesting...that is a constant need for temp housing. 

You have to heat the apartment up to a certain temp to kill all of them. 

The key to the project was to cut 26" x 48" pieces of 7/16 pan to use as temp flooring as unmoved around the attic.
