I was originally typing this on my phone but had to move to my computer to make a graph to display what I'm saying (In my data the two original examples are computed with no money down): If I paid an additional $500 towards principle each month (after developing a suitable nest egg for CapX, of course), not only do I cut the term of the loan by 20.6 years, but I also end up paying $57,067.14 less in interest over the term.

I've looked at Realtor.com as well and I'm not sure about the estimates to the right of the property and the numbers displayed on that site also seem skewed!
