Stay in the game".When playing Poker, you don't throw chips in on a bac hand, and you don't approach a hand you have already thrown chips into that goes bad with a need to continue to throw more in thinking you have to in order to not lose the chips already in the pot.

At lower price points (and rougher neighborhoods) it is actually possible to cover 100% of your monthly mortgage payment (PITI), in the middle range you can probably expect to pay maybe $200 out of pocket and if you go high end on the North Shore you may need to chip in $500 a month - but you also live in an area where rents are $1500 or more.

I haven't looked at the area closely, though I have vacationed there before, but a quick cursory look seems to me like this is one of those destinations that might make sense if you want a place there to use and you just want STR to cover some of the expenses, or you want to hold for appreciation and hope STR will chip into the mortgage payment in the meantime.
