From experience I'm not convinced on the air purge method.Instead I use a 3/4 HP submersible pump in a 5 gallon bucket & pump fluid (usually the pink 'food grade' RV anti-freeze) through the lines.

Unless the 30K is a drop in the bucket in your reserves and it's just going to sit there earning you nothing, anyway, I'd hold on to as much as I could for future emergencies or your next investment property.

@Andrew SolanoIf your plan is to borrow from the 401(k) plan, you may want to consider making contributions to the Roth designated 401k bucket instead of the pretax 401k bucket.
