There are a few things I think I've learned from my own experience.1) Look for a property management company with multiple people who have specific tasks.

My assumption is that we will have to petition for a change in zoning, but I wanted to see if anyone could offer some advice as to what potential hurdles may lie ahead for us in this somewhat unique situation.Thanks BP

There just hasn't been a scenario like this on any of the podcast I've heard unique to NC or licensed agents.

I would participate in the project without financial part - providing help and doing different tasks just to watch the process and learn.

She uses cozy to collect rents, and she used task rabbit to lease up the units.

The house style is actually unique in this area (though not in the northeast), a tri-level.

Any specific or special tasks that you need: manage contractors for renovations, section 8, onsite, etc.All important information to consider when searching for property managers.

The latter is very important as finding the right GCs is not an easy task. 

This is unique relative to other places I've personally rented (Denver, Orlando, LA and Boston).
