I guess when you tried to spitball hoping something would stick when you realized you didn't have anything worthwhile to put forth.

Stick built homes on city lots are going to be expensive. 

To be fair, they sold me the home, so as long as it ends up in the rentable condition noted in the purchase agreement, I see no responsibility on their part to stick around for another 2-3 years.

The important thing is that you do not get caught up in the frenzy and stick to your numbers.   

Not to mention our building standards remain for most part that of colonial times, why, who knows, we just don't like to embrace brick block and cement for some reason and prefer sticks still. 

Know what your criteria is and stick to it.

There was a quarter stick of butter in the frig with the papaer still on it, and it looked normal. 

Like you said, they are stick built small studios that have a yurt like look.They are pretty sharp and I like the setting.

So, it may be better to stick it out for another 1-3 months and then get rid of them.

I won't go with the riskiest opportunistic strategies, and will stick to core and core plus mostly with some value-added.
