In California we have everything from small family run homes to larger places with private apartment type rooms of 1-2 bedrooms, a large congregational cafeteria where residents eat meals, a common area with various seating arrangements for visiting, organzied recreational events, shuttles to shopping, etc.

In those cities there are a lot of older (1900-1950) multifamily housing stock with good bones.I second @Brandon Vukelich's advice to follow the lightrail - traffic on i-5 is only geting worse, and Seattle's long term vision is to eliminate most buses and cars from downtown and have most of the other transit options simply shuttle folks to and from the lightrail stops.

When I'm not chatting here I'm working overtime to arrange complimentary transportation to get you to court and should you have pending business there secure lodging near the courthouse with complimentary shuttle service on any court dates!
