I’ve seen great results in my STR on focusing on making the space more relaxing and with small elements of a spa-like experience.

Denver is also a great city for STR on Airbnb (has to be your primary residence). 

You wouldn't want to purchase the property with the intention of running it as a STR only to have the laws change and then have it cash flow negative as a LTR. 

Both our names are on the mortgage and title.We are now doing STR on the Jersey City properties.

Before you take that on, you have already probably looked at things like occupancy rate and potential income from STR on airbnb or the like. 

I guess I was thinking that perhaps I could live in this condo for a year or so during the week and STR on the weekends, and then switch to either full time STR or a long term lease for $850-$900.

There are some nice duplexes avaliable for under 250 or so and you could even use that as a hybrid str on one side and ltr on the other (depending on zoning) there was also a nice duplex in dacono.
