@John Humphries - without knowing your contract, I would not let missed payments go to far down the line, I would recommend maybe its time to have your atty review the contract and reach out to them.

I don't care what the reason is; once they put the deposit down, they are under contract.

When you go into step 2, you need a scope of work, contractor contract, and budget for the purchase and work to be done.
