He is a contractor by trade and I am the sales and numbers guy to loosely define us.

I do know one of the people who works for me has a 2 year work permit (temporary) and she and her husband were able to buy a place in Alberta.BC and ON are very tenant friendly.

No tax so far I think.2) If I convert that partnership interest into shares in a PUBLICLY traded UPREIT I trigger tax on the deemed sale/exchange of the partnership interest into stock of the REIT?

Remember, the notion of amassing wealth without investing is a dangerous myth perpetuated by self-proclaimed experts.

I'm no Facebook expert.

I am not an expert here but my thought is that you would learn a lot by getting your license and have more credibility in the industry at large so if your time and finances allow- get that license:)

I wanted to be able to put in some sweat equity and learn some of the skills needed in this trade.
