The foundation isn’t cracked but rather the sewer pipe coming through the foundation was not sealed properly.We were thinking of putting cement around it and resealing with tar.The joists were never underwater but wet from the humidity and moisture.

This was pre internet days so immediate access to credit was not there Not the case I’m today’s world I guess the takeaway is always hire a good full time property manager upfront let them do what they get paid for and don’t cut corners Hiring a Realtor that is not a Property manager to find a tenant only and to save the monthly management fee Is Like going to the dentist and being told you need a route canal.

in NYC and perhaps other places too, its a big difference between a full brick building (where all 4 exterior walls are from brick) or a building which is frame, even with a brick front wall.i would really appreciate if anyone could explain me how i can find out on a building with a brick exterior wall in front, and the rest of the three exterior walls are covered with cement, if its all brick from inside?

After asking for advice from some family that has done this type of work in the past and learning several different methods online i was ready to tackle the what seemed impossible tub remodel.I'm not going to bore you with all the little things that i learned that need to be done but i ended up going with the cement backerboard method.
