Being courteous and taking care of business has made this experience pleasant for me so far. 

If neighbor tries to sell, the buyer may not be so understanding or courteous.

They have always been clean, paid their rent on time, and been courteous to the other residents.

Be compassionate, empathetic and courteous...

NONE of them will help my bury a body in the desert...they aren't my family and they aren't my friends....they are my customers.So there is a middle ground....be courteous, professional, friendly but not friends....but run a business.

It's not difficult to remind them of this so long as you remember that the law - when used appropriately - is on your side (the law which allows you to tell them: "thank you for your time as tenant... best of luck to you in the future.")The next time you communicate with this individual be friendly, be courteous - but by all means... be the Owner.Cheers.
