You should be VERY afraid because Z/ZG is coming for your leads, they want nothing short of total and complete market ownership, and it's not just retail they want no no no, they want it ALL, especially all investor business and leads and to be honest that's the easiest segment to take over.

Reliable tenants are the exception, not the norm.A Property Attracts Only a Single Tenant SegmentEach segment has specific housing requirements, and individuals within a segment are unlikely to rent any property that does not meet all of their needs.

I think most of the properties we do are in that middle segment, but more importantly there is a lot of competition and they are all staging.

In my opinion, especially after reading the statements from Chesky, their addition of the rooms category, and the push to show total prices without fees, Airbnb definitely wants to get back to a more value focused proposition in comparison to the other OTA´s and hotel segments. 

.** Small towns may rely too much on a single business or market segment.

This is not a market I study but predicting real estate based on a small segment or time period I would recommend against.

I agree with most here - to market to that segment is very niche, and will turn off people who are not enthusiasts.

As Mike said, there are deals to be had in this market segment but there are pitfalls as well. 

Thankfully we all don't focus on the same segment of investing!
